Conn. bill would tax candy, soft drinks by the ounce
A Connecticut lawmaker introduced a bill this week that would impose a tax of one cent per ounce on candy and carbonated or uncarbonated soft drinks in an effort to curb childhood obesity rates. The bill, which has met opposition from the NCA, will be reviewed by the state’s Joint Committee on Children. Vending Times (2/2015)
